Five Dot Ranch is Todd and Loretta Swickard’s all-natural Angus beef program born of their family’s 150-year-old California ranching legacy.
Five Dot is committed to open range grazing and holistic animal management with a focus on low-stress handling. Todd and Loretta are passionate about preserving the natural environment, and raising their cattle in harmony with California’s bounty of native plants and wildlife.
The Five Dot team has developed a four-season breeding program that synchronizes the cattle’s nutritional requirements with the seasonal availability of native forage. Based in Lassen, CA, the team rotates the herd between pastures across seven NorCal counties—allowing the cattle to remain 94–97% grass fed throughout the year. To ensure a consistent product year round, the cattle are finished on hay and barley just before harvest.
